Bonnier Corp.'s Parenting Group and AOL Inc. have announced a strategic sales alliance that will bring Parenting.com content to AOL. The partnership is intended to significantly grow Parenting.com's audience and AOL's reach in the valuable parenting category, with links to Parenting.com articles featured on the AOL home page and across multiple Lifestyle channel properties.

SFVT to NBC Sports Network

Sport Fishing Television (SFTV), a Bonnier Corporation production in which editors from Bonnier's sport fishing magazines travel the globe fishing some of the world's greatest angling hot spots, has a new TV home this year: the NBC Sports Network.

The new network from NBC Sports launched the first of the year, replacing the Versus Network. The 24-hour sports mega-network backed by NBC should provide a great platform as the new home for SFTV. The show, now in its 11th season, airs every Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

Hunting Expos to Bonnier Corporation

Events broaden offering of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life.

Four of the largest deer- and turkey-hunting public expos in the U.S. have been acquired by Bonnier Corporation. The events will be tied to the Field & Stream and Outdoor Life brands.

Bonnier Corporation Adds UFC Magazine to Stable

Starting late December, Bonnier Corporation will be the publisher of UFC Magazine.

Bonnier Corporation and the Ultimate Fighting Championship have announced an agreement for Bonnier to begin producing the mixed martial arts organization's official magazine. Hitting newsstands Dec. 27, the first issue of UFC Magazine published by Bonnier will appear. Current Editor-in-Chief Seth Kelly and Publisher Larry Menkes will continue in their positions.

Bonnier tapped Kelly, the editor who launched UFC Magazine for American Media, to return to his role as editor-in-chief.

Bonnier Corp. No. 1 in Ad Gains

According to data from Magazine Radar, Bonnier Corporation leads the ad page gains in the U.S. for the first nine months of 2011 with a 6 percent increase from the same period in 2010. After leading through the first and second quarters of the year, Bonnier sustained its hot streak in the race among the major publishers for advertising gains for 2011, Folio reported last week.

Bonnier Corp. Buys Cycle World

Adding to its stable of popular special interest titles, Bonnier Corporation acquires Cycle World from Hearst.

Bonnier Corporation announced today the purchase of Cycle World magazine from Hearst Corporation. Cycle World  joins Bonnier Corporation's collection of brands in the U.S. that includes Popular Science, Parenting, Field & Stream and a number of special-interest active lifestyle titles.

"Our company excels at serving passionate special-interest audiences, so Cycle World is a solid strategic fit," says Terry Snow, CEO of Bonnier Corporation.

NASTAR and U.S. Ski Team to Cooperate

For the first time, recreational and elite skiers to compete at combined NASTAR and U.S. Ski Team event.

NASTAR, the recreational ski and snowboard race program, has combined forces with the U.S. Ski Team to produce a new combined event that will put the spotlight on the sport for both amateurs and pros.

The Championships will combine the traditional Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships with the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships.

Florida Travel + Life No. 1 in Florida

Florida Travel + Life comes in first in magazine competition.

Florida Travel + Life has been named the top magazine in the state. It took top honors at the annual Florida Magazine Awards, winning in the Best Overall Magazine category. In addition to winning the top award of the competition, Florida Travel + Life took two other firsts: Best Department and Best Single Color Photo. The magazine also picked up second-place awards for Best Written Magazine, Best Overall Use of Photography, Best Overall Design and Best Visitor Publication.

What's the audience for Sound + Vision? Who is your average reader?

The traditional S+V audience is a fortysomething tech-savvy male, and in terms of spending power and influence, our readers are comparable to Esquire readers. We've been the No. 1 brand in the A/V tech-related category for decades and that's a great thing indeed, but we know we need to bring the next generation into the high-fidelity/high-quality fold.
