Finalists for Biggest U.S. Magazine Awards

Field & Stream and Popular Science are short-listed for the National Magazine Awards.

Two Bonnier Corporation titles are finalists in the 45th annual National Magazine Awards, Field & Stream and Popular Science. Commonly known as the Ellies after the prize itself, an elephant sculpture by Alexander Calder, the awards are the biggest magazine prizes in the U.S. The contest is sponsored by the American Society of Magazine Editors and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Top Companies for Women at the Top

The 50 top U.S. companies for women executives released by the National Association for Female Executives.

The National Association for Female Executives released its list of the top 50 companies in the U.S. for female executives in the March issue of NAFE's magazine. The Top Ten companies for 2010 are Abbot, Aetna, American Express, Fleishman-Hillard, General Mills, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Marriott International, Office Depot and Wellpoint.

Campaign for Print Ads

Bonnier Corporation joins campaign to promote advertising in print media.

The first ads for a new campaign pushing the power of print media will be appearing in the May issues of some 100 different consumer magazines.

New Digital Ads for Bonnier Corporation

Bonnier Corporation will work with ZPAN, a new digital ad network in the U.S.

Bonnier Corporation joins 14 other publishing groups in a new cross-publisher digital ad network for magazines. The network was launched by Zinio, a San Francisco-based company that provides a digital newsstand for buying and reading magazines online and has the top free News app on iPhone. The network, dubbed Zinio's Publisher Advertising Network (ZPAN), will run the first ads in March and April across a range of magazines, including SKI Magazine.

 

Twitter names Parenting.com a Suggested User in the Family Category

The social networking site Twitter has listed Parenting.com among the best sites to follow in the family category in its newly-revamped official suggested user list. Fellow Bonnier title Saveur was also named to the list in the food & drink category.

TransWorld Wants Its MTV and MTV Wants TransWorld

For the first time ever, a TransWorld TV show will be hitting the airwaves on an MTV network in slots that the network considers prime time. But it’s even better than that: Not just one but two shows will air. TransWorld SNOWboarding and TransWorld SKATEboarding both have scored one-hour specials on MTV2  

"This is a major breakthrough for the TransWorld brand, as both of these shows integrate the brand into the programming by emphasizing the respect these A-list athletes have for TransWorld," says Michael Starobin, Bonnier's vice president of media development. "Additionally, MTV2 is available in 75 million households, making these specials an important part of our sponsors' marketing programs." TransWorld's Team Shoot Out is sponsored by Ball Park Franks, and Skate & Create is sponsored by Monster Energy Drink.

MIN Announces Editorial & Design Award Winners – Bonnier Takes Home Three

Three Bonnier titles won big at the first annual MIN Editorial & Design Awards, which were announced recently at New York's Grand Hyatt

Saveur won for "Magazine Design" for its Dining in America issue. It beat out Marie Claire, House Beautiful, InStyle and Travel + Leisure. MIN noted Art Director Dave Weaver's "juxtaposed image and text, people and plates so that the design embodied the editorial mission of the issue."

Popular Science Magazine Announces the "Best of What's New": Top 100 Tech Innovations of 2009

Popular Science magazine has announced the winners of the 2009 Best of What's New Awards, an annual accolade honoring the top 100 technologies in 11 categories, including one Innovation of the Year winner and 11 Grand Award winners, one from each category. All are featured in the magazine's December issue

"Best of What's New is about finding innovations that simply blow us away, pushing us past what we thought was possible," says Mark Jannot, editor in chief of Popular Science.
