Saveur Gets Industry Accolade

U.S. food magazine Saveur is recognized for its increase in advertising on annual important industry Hot List from Adweek and Mediaweek. Publisher Merri Lee Kingsley credits customer orientation for the listing.

Bonnier Corporation's Saveur was included on Adweek and Mediaweek's annual Hot List recognizing those magazines with a track record of standout advertising revenue and page growth. The list cited Saveur's 12.7 percent growth in pages last year due to new advertising, a trend that continues - Saveur is up 23 percent for its May issue.

"Our creative customer-oriented team puts our clients' needs first and it has paid off," said Merri Lee Kingsly, publisher of Saveur.

Barcodes for a Better Reading Experience

New 2D-barcode technology sparks renewed interest in Bonnier's action-sports titles.

While most are hoping the iPad is the next big thing in publishing, 2D-barcode technology is bringing clients back to Bonnier's action-sports titles. WakeBoarding was the first to debut 2D-barcode technology on its April cover that just hit newsstands, and immediately some advertisers reversed course and made a buy, all due to the 2D experience.

Finalists for Biggest U.S. Magazine Awards

Field & Stream and Popular Science are short-listed for the National Magazine Awards.

Two Bonnier Corporation titles are finalists in the 45th annual National Magazine Awards, Field & Stream and Popular Science. Commonly known as the Ellies after the prize itself, an elephant sculpture by Alexander Calder, the awards are the biggest magazine prizes in the U.S. The contest is sponsored by the American Society of Magazine Editors and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Top Companies for Women at the Top

The 50 top U.S. companies for women executives released by the National Association for Female Executives.

The National Association for Female Executives released its list of the top 50 companies in the U.S. for female executives in the March issue of NAFE's magazine. The Top Ten companies for 2010 are Abbot, Aetna, American Express, Fleishman-Hillard, General Mills, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Marriott International, Office Depot and Wellpoint.

The first ads for a new campaign pushing the power of print media will be appearing in the May issues of some 100 different consumer magazines.

New Digital Ads for Bonnier Corporation

Bonnier Corporation will work with ZPAN, a new digital ad network in the U.S.

Bonnier Corporation joins 14 other publishing groups in a new cross-publisher digital ad network for magazines. The network was launched by Zinio, a San Francisco-based company that provides a digital newsstand for buying and reading magazines online and has the top free News app on iPhone. The network, dubbed Zinio's Publisher Advertising Network (ZPAN), will run the first ads in March and April across a range of magazines, including SKI Magazine.

 

Twitter names Parenting.com a Suggested User in the Family Category

The social networking site Twitter has listed Parenting.com among the best sites to follow in the family category in its newly-revamped official suggested user list. Fellow Bonnier title Saveur was also named to the list in the food & drink category.
