Sounds into Coupons

Sound recognition is at the heart of Mobilab's newest coupon service.

Mobilab has launched a new service with cell phone maker Sony Ericsson that lets users get coupons, special offers and additional information on their cell phones when the phone detects a specific sound.

The service uses Sony Ericsson's TrackID app, recently released at the Android Market, which helps users identify a specific musical artist.

Mobilab Wins Cut the Wire Award

At this year's Cut The Wire Awards, TV4 Expressen Mobilab AB won in the Mobile Marketing category for a campaign done in cooperation with food company Felix.

"Telecomcity in Karlskrona, which organizes competitions, prioritizes companies from Karlskrona, so the competition was tough," says Joachim Albarez, business developer at Mobilab. "But the campaign was a success, which appealed to the jury.

Mobilab and Pressbyrån Launch Game for the iPhone and Android

Companies are standing in line to get their products placed on Mellanmålstur, the game from Mobilab and Pressbyrån.

Digital solution company Mobilab and newsstand chain Pressbyrån today launched a game for the iPhone and Android where players can win consumer goods that can be redeemed at Pressbyrån's stores. The game, Mellanmålstur, is connected to a campaign site where the top 50 players who've received the most points are listed and will get a cell-phone coupon for a product sent to their cell phones.

Mobilab Launches Location-Based Service

Using Facebook Places, users can get reward coupons.

Mobilab takes the next step in mobile coupon development: Late yesterday it launched Kupong.se Checkin, a location-based service. When users come to a store and check in via Facebook Places, they get a text message with a unique code for a coupon that can be used directly. Swedish newsstand Pressbyrån is first to use the service.

ExpressenTV's iPhone App a Hit

New app from ExpressenTV is in the top ten list on Swedish iTunes.

Less than a week after launching, ExpressenTV's iPhone-app is in the top ten list in the Swedish App Store. Since the launch, it's been holding its place between No. 3 and No. 7 as the most popular free app in Sweden.

"We released the app in April this year as a test that we've continually improved on, before we launched it officially this past weekend," says Anna Rastner, editorial manager for ExpressenTV.

Recipes on Your Cell Phone

New cell-phone website gives users access to 17,000 recipes - and coupons to buy the ingredients at the grocery store.

Sweden's popular food website Recept.nu, which was launched in Nov. 2007 by afternoon daily Expressen and TV4 Group, has been one of the country's biggest food sites since last year, with some 340,00 unique visitors weekly.
