Svensk Filmindustri is filming The Hypnotist

Scandinavian major Svensk Filmindustri has acquired the rights to film the Swedish crime novel hit The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler.

The Hypnotist is a co-production between Svensk Filmindustri and Sonet Film, producers Börje Hansson and Peter Possne. The principal shooting of the movie will commence in 2010/2011.

SF boost production activities

Scandinavian major Svensk Filmindustri is further strengthening its production activities in the Nordic countries. 

The present level of production at Svensk Filmindustri (SF) is higher then ever and several new films are either in development, in production, in post-production, or are ready to have its theatrical releases and to be exploited on the international market.

SF and SF Bio – which is which?

SF and SF Bio sound almost the same, but in fact they are two completely different companies. Here, we explain the differences between the two.

They have similar names, similar logos and are constantly confused with one another, even internally by us at Bonnier - for instance, in the newsletter that went out to all employees last week. "The future of cinema may well be spelled 3-D," says Rasmus Ramstad, CEO of Svensk Filmindustri. During the next two years, various Hollywood companies plan to release some 30 films in 3-D. Recent and upcoming releases include Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brendan Fraser, U2's concert film, Dreamworks' Monsters vs. Aliens, Ice Age 3 and, in the autumn, James Cameron's big film Avatar.
