Long popular in the German-speaking world, the Pixi book series for small children is about to make an intercontinental splash, thanks to Bonnier Publishing. Published originally by Carlsen Verlag in Germany, the Pixi series will be launched in the U.K.

With a launch for kids at a zoo and a popular web game, Five Mile Press' new "Ranger in Danger" series is already a success.

What better place to launch a new animal book series for kids than at a zoo - which is where Australia's Five Mile Press released its new Ranger in Danger series recently. Some 30 rangers-in-training attended the event at Werribee Zoo, which included a chance for the kids to feed zebras and rhinos.
