Life At Bonnier - Audrey Bay

Audrey Bay: In Love with Stockholm

After her first experience abroad, GROW's Audrey feels lucky to have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I applied to the GROW program on a whim. I never thought in a million years that I would be chosen. So when the e-mail came through that I was going to Stockholm, obviously I was shocked. May seemed so far away, but in no time I was on my way here. At first, I was extremely homesick, as I expected to be. It was my first time abroad and I really knew no one. Initially, the days went by slowly and it took me awhile to get my feet wet. As time passed, I started to make more friends and gradually the weather improved. Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with the city of Stockholm.

Audrey Bay: Enjoying Quiet July in Stockholm

GROW's Audrey explores Europe with her mom and enjoys the quiet office life of July in Stockholm.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks. Last weekend, I made a trip to Scotland with my mother who visited me for eight days and this weekend I will be heading to London to visit a friend. All of the traveling has me exhausted, but this will be my last trip until my final trip home.

Audrey Bay: Celebration Time

Audrey discovers Swedish Midsummer and celebrates her 27th birthday.

Two months in Stockholm and finally I'm experiencing some of that Swedish summer. Up until this past week, it has been pretty cold and unusually rainy for this time of year. All of my co-workers assured me that this is not normal. Considering that it has been 100+ degrees in Winter Park, I am not complaining too much. Since my last blog, both my birthday and the Midsummer holiday have passed.

Stockholm Recycles

GROW's Audrey gets back in the swing of recycling at Bonnierförlagen.

Well, this blog actually marks the halfway point of my GROW experience. Everyone said that time would really fly by, but as I write this blog, I still can't believe how fast it actually has. I've almost completed my environmental project and am excited to see what else Bonnierförlagen has in store for me.

Green Stockholm

GROW's Audrey Bay enjoys the Stockholm spring while helping Bonnierförlagen study their carbon impact.

Well, we're almost near the end of month one and time has really just flown by. There are so many things to see and experience and I've only just scratched the surface. I'm becoming more and more familiar with the city and I don't feel quite as lost as I did when I first arrived. It's now starting to get a lot warmer here, which makes it easier and more enjoyable to be outside (which is such a great place to be in Stockholm).

First Time Abroad

GROW ambassador Audrey Bay leaves the U.S. for the first time in her life to work for Bonnierförlagen in Stockholm.

Hej! My name is Audrey Bay and I am the Traffic Coordinator for the Consumer Marketing department at Bonnier Corporation in Winter Park, FL. I have been working for Bonnier since the fall of 2007 and have watched the company and department grow by leaps and bounds in a short time. My job as Traffic Coordinator is to assist the Production team by managing and tracking the approval of materials for all direct mail programs.
