A special edition of Bulgarian business daily Pari - "The 100+ managers of the most successful companies in Bulgaria," published on June 30, was the biggest issue ever in terms of generating advertising revenue. The issue included the annual ranking of the biggest companies in Bulgaria and presented their top managers, revealing the people who actually run the Bulgarian economy.

When Bulgaria's business daily Pari was established in 1991, it was among the first privately held newspapers in the country. With a target audience of banks and financial institutions, private companies and government, the paper has a national audience. And since 1997, it has also given out one of the country's most prestigious prizes for banks, the Pari Banking Awards.

For Bonnier Business Press in Central and Eastern Europe, 2009 has been marked by the drastic tightening of budget strings. In total, expenditures have been cut by around 30 percent, and in some countries even more.
