Norwegian book publisher Cappelen Damm is creating a special memorial book filled with contributions from professional writers and the general public, with the proceeds going toward the rebuilding of Utøya after the recent massacre.

After July 22, Norway will never be the same. Norwegian book publisher Cappelen Damm has decided to produce a special memorial book that will document how Norway reacted to the recent catastrophe. With the help of a Facebook page, the publisher is collecting photos, blog posts, speeches, Tweets and other messages to include in the book.

Stian Hole and Cappelen Damm Win Bragepriset Award

On Tuesday, Norway's prestigious Bragepriset awards were given out. Cappelen Damm author Stian Hole won in the open category with his children's book Garmanns Hemmelighet (Garmann's Secret). The prize is Norway's equivalent to the Pulitzer Prize or the National Book Award.

Norwegian publisher Cappelen Damm drew thousands at the inaugural Oslo Book Festival.

The first-ever Oslo Book Festival has been a smashing success. With over 130,000 visitors, the event far exceeded expectations. "We hoped for 70,000 and dreamed of 100,000," said festival chairman John Tørres Thuv. "It's clear that the festival is now a tradition in Oslo."
