Authors Get Their Say on TV Series

Nyläst, a new TV series on the Swedish Axess TV, features writers talking about their work. The series is sponsored by Bonnierförlagen.

On Sunday Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m., Swedish Axess TV premiered the new series Nyläst (recently read). A literary magazine program, Nyläst features in-depth interviews with authors of new books as well as tips on books to read. The series, which is produced by Bonnierförlagen and Svenska Filmbolaget, will be broadcast every Sunday evening.

The program is the brainchild of Albert Bonnier, director of trade books at Albert Bonniers Förlag and Martin Ahlström, marketing director at Albert Bonniers Förlag. "There has always been a need to hear what authors want to say with their books," says Albert Bonnier. "We see this as an exciting project where literature can really be in focus and authors get the chance to speak fully without being interrupted."

First out was author Ann Heberlein, talking about her book En liten bok om ondskan (a little book about evil) with Albert Bonnier. Authors Oline Stig and Per Wästberg are just two of the authors scheduled for upcoming shows, with Åsa Selling, literary director at Wahlström & Widstrand and Stephen Farran-Lee, publisher for Swedish literature at Albert Bonniers Förlag joining Albert Bonnier as interviewers.

The show is filmed in front of a live audience made up of members of literary social media site Boktipset. Along with being broadcast on Sunday evenings with rebroadcasts throughout the week, the show will be available on-demand also at Axess Play. You can read more about it here.
