Bonnier Business Press International has bought the majority shareholding in Norsk Helseinformatikk AS (NHI). The acquisition is part of BBP International's commitment to the Norwegian market, through Medicine Today International (MTI), which also bought the Norwegian medical paper Dagens Medisin (Medicine Today) in October 2010. The acquisition of NHI was closed on February 3, 2011.
"We are very pleased to have a new owner that allows us to focus further on the quality of our products," says NHI's CEO Terje Johannessen. "We have already expanded our editorial strength in Norway. Through Bonnier we get additional resources to back up further developments of Norsk Elektronisk LegehÄndbok (NEL) and the public portal NHI.no."
The NEL is a medical reference source for doctors and health sector workers. The Danish edition of the NEL is also a national reference source in Denmark. The website NHI.no has over 100,000 unique visitors per week.
