Business-to-Business Magazines for the iPad from Spoon

Swedish content agency Spoon to offer customer magazines on the Mag+ platform for the iPad.

Bonnier's Mag+ platform is now available from Spoon for business-to-business and other magazines. The Mag+ platform has gotten praise from Steve Jobs at Apple, among others, when Popular Science+ was launched simultaneously with the iPad in April in the U.S.

"We're working with a number of iPad projects in which we are looking closely at the platform developed by Bonnier R&D," says Henrik Lundberg, digital project manager at Spoon. "The Mag+ platform gives us fantastic possibilities for cost-effective solutions for our customers by using the same successful platform as Popular Science and the Swedish magazine mama."

Lundberg says that there is a lot of interest in what can be done with the new iPad platform. "We're on the cutting edge of development, which makes it particularly exciting," he says. "It's more exciting when you have products to sell and a customer magazine already. There's a direct business advantage. We've already shown the dummy to some of our clients and we'll soon be presenting a finished product."

Spoon's clients are very interested in reaching their target audience digitally. The iPhone-app that Spoon recently launched for fitness center chain SATS has already been downloaded 10,000 times.

"We see a huge demand for editorial material in digital channels," says Lundberg. "The SATS app will be updated regularly with editorial content."
