Charlotte Fagerlund: Malmö News

A Week in the Life: this Sydsvenskan web editor takes us through her day.

An article about trams coming to Malmö within ten years is the most commented article on Tuesday morning. So at lunchtime, I give the article a hed and dek that talk about readers' comments. Some of the comments will be published in the printed newspaper tomorrow.

My colleague Elin Fjellman Jaderup leaves a text that the Magistratsskolan school will close sooner than planned. She also has the letter which was sent to parents in pdf format, which we add as a link in the article. We also have linked several earlier articles on the school. The article will be a new peak at both the division and on the front page.

During the day I contact web editors responsible for Sydsvenskan first page, and tell which pieces from Malmö editorial they can use.

At the same time work on the redesign is full swing, and we have to determine which sections we'll have in the Malmö Division. The head of Malmö Editorial Lotta Satz and I conclude that we want to have three sub-sections to begin with: City Tunnel, Malmö festival and Malmö policymakers.

And so the supplement about the new Sydsvenskan starts to take shape. Most of the job is now on the other editor, Andreas Ekström and the sub editor Margaret Person. I'm now just about to email over some information I gathered earlier.
