Dagens industri Gives More to Faithful Readers

Business daily Dagens industri launches exclusive club for subscribers: Di Guld.

In March, Dagens industri started up its loyalty program initiative for yearly subscribers - Di Guld (Di Gold).  The focus is on business opportunities for members. Among other things, the program includes a personalized calendar, where important business events can be synchronized with a member's calendar and updated automatically if a company makes a change.

"We believe the business calendar is an important way for our subscribers to keep track of shareholder meetings and other similar things directly in their own calendars," says Cecilia Göthlin, circulation manager at Dagens industri.

Another service are the Business Contacts, an address book with contact information for nearly 2 million decisionmakers. They can be anything from marketing and purchasing managers to product managers, ad sales representatives to lawyers.

"In conjunction with [Swedish business information company] PAR, we've created a service where you can get not only the name of the CEO and board of directors, as you can from many web services, but also contact information like telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for people much further down in an organization," says Göthlin.

Members of Di Guld can even book meeting rooms at a business hotel in Stockholm. The idea is that the service can be used by small businesses, for example, who have a lot of meetings in Stockholm but no office. Di Guld members will get preference and a guaranteed meeting room.

Partners for Di Guld are chosen carefully.

"We want to offer hand-picked services and partnerships that our readers can't get anywhere else," says Göthlin. "Our hope is that our services should provide a value-added business angle, so that members can provide in turn a better result in their work roles."

So far, members have only seen the beginning. During the summer and fall a number of new services and offers will be presented. Di Guld will have a members' lounge during the tennis week at Båstad, in cooperation with Skistar Swedish Open, for example.

"Last year, we had breakfast seminars that were incredibly popular," says Göthlin. "This year, we'll have three interviews with interesting people within Swedish business: venture capitalist Christer Gardell, Vattenfall CEO Öystein Löseth and Stefan Edberg, the world-renowned tennis star and now businessman. In the lounge, we'll offer Di Guld members refreshments and the possibility of following the matches via live broadcast while keeping updated on the latest business news via the newspaper and Di+ on the iPad."
