It is particularly rewarding to me that we have been able to put so many remarkable multicultural women in the national spotlight over the last six years of our work.

"This award is a wonderful recognition of Working Mother Media and our many partners. Our Multicultural Women Initiative is a collaborative effort between our company, academia and corporate America, and I am proud of the impact we have had on the country's profound move toward a more diverse and inclusive workplace. All of the members of Diversity Best Practices, our national network of Chief Diversity Officers, share in this award through their continuous leadership on the most cutting-edge issues facing the world today.

It is particularly rewarding to me that we have been able to put so many remarkable multicultural women in the national spotlight over the last six years of our work. I want to thank all of our Legacy Award winners and all of the hundreds of women who have stepped to the stage and shared their stories. Their role modeling and mentoring have changed the lives of thousands of professional women in this country and around the globe.

On a personal note, my son Robert was born 22 years ago on January 15th. I have always enjoyed celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King's life on a day of such personal importance to me."

—Carol Evans
