Jorid Aldrin: Danish Autumn

Our Swedish GROW ambassador Jorid visits a web analytics seminar and moves to a new apartment.

Autumn has arrived in Copenhagen, it's windy and cold and all the trees are starting to turn beautifully red and yellow. I just came back after an exhausting thai boxing class at the gym, the class really makes you push yourself to the limit of exhaustion but it's so much fun and a really good exercise when you are working in an office all day. Back home I normally take dance classes, but thai boxing has really become a new favorite.

During the past week I have been working with all kinds of different analysis. For example I've been looking at the traffic development for a newly implemented function, a picture forum, at Bonnier Publications different digital photo sites. I've been looking into how different traffic channels, such as search engines, direct traffic and referring traffic is developing for all the Bonnier Publications sites as well as for each site and provided data for evaluation of collaborations with external partners.

The past week I also went to a course in Emediate which is the web advertisement booking system used at Bonnier Publications, it's really interesting to have the opportunity to be introduced to all this new working tools and to gain new knowledge about how to use them and how they contribute to the work being done at the online department.

Last Wednesday I went to a really interesting seminar organized by IIH, the event is called Web Analytics Wednesday and the topic was about web site testing practices such as A/B and multivariate testing and analysis. The lecturer was Eric T Peterson who has worked as a web analyst for over 10 years and who also is the founder of Web Analytics Demystified.

Last weekend I went home to Stockholm to move in to a new apartment. It's a new built apartment in the south of Stockholm, me and my boyfriend were supposed to move in, in June, but the construction work was delayed for almost 6 months so we finally got to move in last weekend. It was a really though weekend with lots of carrying, unpacking and looking at new furniture, and of course we didn't had time for it all so it was quite frustrating to leave it all unfinished when I had to go back to Copenhagen on Sunday, but it's going to be so good to come home to a new apartment that you can furnish just the way you always dreamed about and with all the interior design shops in Copenhagen I'm going to be full of inspiration when I'm coming home in December.
