Magazine for Do-It-Yourselfers

Fixa Själv, the new DIY magazine from Swedish hardware store chain Clas Ohlson and magazine maker Spoon, breaks new ground.

Customer magazine specialists Spoon and Swedish hardware chain Clas Ohlson are launching a new magazine, Fixa Själv - Fix-It-Yourself - on April 7. The magazine will focus on creative ideas for solving everyday household problems, everything from how to hang heavy objects on a plaster wall to bicycle repair. The magazine will come out six times a year and be available by subscription as well as in Clas Ohlson's 54 stores throughout Sweden. The stores receive some 26 million visitors yearly.

The magazine is the first of its kind for the Swedish retail trade, says Ulrika Göransson, Marketing Director at Clas Ohlson.

"We've long had plans to launch a magazine in this segment," says Anders Ribba, CEO of Spoon. "Together with Clas Ohlson, we've come up with a clear editorial idea. A strength is that we can utilize Clas Ohlson's expertise and experience in the segment with our experience in making magazines."

Spoon, which is a subsidiary of Bonnier Tidskrifter, produces a wide range of editorial products for companies, such as customer magazines and newsletters, as well as editorial content for websites and other digital channels.
