Nine of the most famous photographers and illustrators from Swedish mama magazine will be auctioning off artwork to benefit Unicef. The works were shown at an opening at Bonnier Konsthall on April 12 and published in the May issue of mama with the bidding at online auction site Tradera.se. You can see the works here. Bidding will close May 13.

For mama, the current Unicef benefit is part of a longer relationship with the organization. Editor-in-Chief Anna Zethraeus went to Malawi in 2009 and reported on Unicef's work there. In 2010, every issue of the magazine has featured a different Unicef sponsor parent with information on how to become a sponsor parent.

"To have a charity organization focused on children at a partner is obvious for me," says Zethraeus. "Mama has a big heart and our readers are incredibly engaged when it comes to helping vulnerable children and mothers have better lives.

"Unicef does a fantastic job worldwide and it is exciting to contribute, getting readers to look outside their daily lives and see other mothers and children whose lives are hanging by a thread. It also gives perspective to your own life as a mother."
