Trond Juliussen credits his success at Bonnier Media in Oslo, Norway to the commitment of his department and continually striving to create a dynamic organization. After three years as advertising director, Juliussen has achieved many professional and personal goals. "I'm most proud that we sold 32 percent more than last year," he says. "Personally, this year I was the winner of the Purple People Award, which recognizes Norway's best media seller. I was proud because it was the first time a representative of the magazine industry won this award."
Focusing on customers and meeting challenges head on helped Juliussen exceed expectations for 2010. "Print is under pressure and losing ground," he says. "A clearly fragmented media world makes it harder for mass media and easier for niche media, which is why the Bonnier commitment has been so successful."
Juliussen exemplifies leadership and is constantly raising the bar by investing in training and education for his team, and he always wants to create a good work environment. "As a leader you must be clear in both communication and action," he says. "I think the key to success is to see possibilities, not limitations. Create motivation and inspiration for customers and employees, and then the results will come."
