MTV Wins Key Media Rights

MTV3 to broadcast IIHF World Hockey Championship for 2012-2017, a key program in hockey-loving Finland.

MTV Oy has entered into an agreement with international sports marketing agency Infront Sports & Media AG (Zug, Switzerland) concerning the media rights for the men's IIHF World Championships in ice hockey from 2012 to 2017. Two tournaments will be partly played in Finland during this period. MTV Oy already holds the media rights to all of the international games played by Finnish national ice hockey teams, the Junior (U20) and Women's IIHF World Championship tournaments as well as to Finland's domestic second-tier Mestis division until the end of the 2010 season.

"The IIHF World Championship is Finland's most popular sports event year in, year out, and this agreement provides our operations with fresh, strong building blocks for many years to come," says MTV Oy CEO Pekka Karhuvaara.
