New Digital Magazine and Imprint from Bonnier Magazines

Bonnier Magazines launches C Mode – a new fashion weekly for tablets.

On June 12, Bonnier Magazines launched its first digital-only weekly magazine - C Mode. The new magazine provides a fast and up-to-date review of the fashion world while giving readers the opportunity to shop whenever and wherever they are. It is based on the blog of Swedish fashion blogger Caroline Blomst, who has a large, international and fashion-savvy audience. The magazine will be published in English.

Editor-in-chief for C Mode is Niclas Blixt Madison and art director is Fredrik Oinonen, both of whom come most recently from travel title Allt om Resor. C Mode is the first magazine from Bonnier Magazine's new digital imprint, Boom Publishing.

"We have started Boom as a kind of publishing greenhouse in which we will develop digital brands outside of the titles we have in print," says Peder Bonnier, head of digital at Bonnier Magazines in Sweden. "We have felt a need for an environment in which to freely experiment with the opportunities that arise from publishing to tablets, in terms of technical capabilities, but also in terms of the content itself, frequency, tempo and business models. With Boom, we have a platform where we can elaborate freely and C Mode is a great first example."

C Mode is being released first for the iPad. A version for Android 3.0 will be launched later during the fall.
