The present level of production at Svensk Filmindustri (SF) is higher then ever and several new films are either in development, in production, in post-production, or are ready to have its theatrical releases and to be exploited on the international market.

Svensk is also co-producing a third feature in the highly successful series by director and Academy Award Nominee Colin Nutley, House of Angels - Third Time Lucky

Sonet Film (acquired by Svensk in 2007) is producing the suspense drama Among Us, with Michael Nykvist (Millennium - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Izabella Scorupco and Tchéky Karyo in the leads, A Thousand Times Stronger, a youth oriented drama and co-producing the drama Between Two Fires. Sonet Film has also completed Starring Maja (co-production, see image), which will have its theatrical premiere on September 11th.

The Norwegian production slate includes the production of the love drama Limbo with Lena Endre in the lead and the following co-productions; the second animated feature length children's film Elias, the children's suspense feature Best Friends, the Second World War thriller Betrayal with former Aqua singer Lene Nystrøm and German actor Götz Otto (Tomorrow Never Dies, Schindler's List) in the leads. The film is based on real events during the war. The Norwegian films also include the horror/thriller pic Detour which premiered in Norway in July.

In Finland, SF's production entity Juonifilmi has completed the dark drama Last Cowboy Standing, which is based on a hugely successful stage play and reflects Finnish family life in the 70's. The film premiered on September 4th. In post-production is the pop musical drama If You Love, a Romeo and Juliet story where a native girl meets the son of African immigrants.

The Danish production entity SF Film Production is developing a number of projects for future releases. Among the already completed films is Det Grå Gull, a drama/comedy. Det Grå Gull is planned for a spring 2010 release.

"Our ambition is to further strengthen our leading position and to remain a dynamic force in film and TV production in the Nordic territory. We have a very strong commitment to local production and we will continue to invest heavily in bringing new, exciting films and TV productions to the public, locally and internationally", says Rasmus Ramstad, President & CEO of Svensk Filmindustri.

"It is exciting to be a part of the present production activities at Svensk Filmindustri. The SF library includes more than 1 200 titles and ranges from silent films starring Greta Garbo, the works of Ingmar Bergman, Bo Widerberg (Elvira Madigan) and Lasse Hallström (My Life as a Dog) to the several new productions that we are involved in every year. I am very pleased to be able to add these new pictures to our line-up and present them to the international market", says Ann-Kristin Westerberg, Sr VP, International Sales.
