Spis Bedre Does Well in Denmark But Leaves Norway

Food title Spis Bedre will focus on its nearly 100,000 readers in Denmark.

After six successful years, food magazine Spis Bedre is now Denmark's No. 1 magazine focusing on just food, with 97,000 readers. However in Norway, the title hasn't had the same power, so owner Bonnier Tidskrifter has decided to discontinue the magazine after the third issue of 2011.

Spis Bedre is a magazine with modern, healthy and easy-to-prepare food, a profile that has worked well in Denmark but hasn't attracted the same interest in Norway," says Katrin Alström, editor-in-chief for Spis Bedre and publisher for the food and gardening titles at Bonnier Tidskrifter. "We decided to focus on the Danish edition and put our energies there instead."

Spis Bedre was started by Bonnier Publications but is owned today by Bonnier Tidskrifter. The editorial team in Norway will finish with the magazine at the beginning of 2011 and will take on new positions within Bonnier then. There will be no personnel changes at Spis Bedre's Swedish and Danish editions.
