Southern Swedish daily newspaper Sydsvenskan and conference organizer Numera Mässor has started a joint event company, Sydsvenska Mässor & Events. The ambition is to develop the leading event company for public fairs in southern Sweden.
"The event industry is growing and we see there is a lot of potential in the market," says Johan Belfrage, finance manager at Sydsvenskan. "The timing is right and with a new conference center we hope to improve the event industry in the region. With Sydsvenska Mässor & Events, Sydsvenskan can broaden its operations. The newspaper can use its position in the market and broaden the customer base in a new way."
Eleven employees working today at Numera Mässor kommer will be employed by the new company. Sydsvenska Mässor & Events will arrange fairs and events in Skania province, including the food and lifestyle Skånemässan and auto Motormässan public fairs. The CEO for the new company will be Numera Mässor's current CEO Ulf Ottosson.
