When Lithuanian business daily Verslo Žinios partnered with TMD Partners consulting firm to create the Sales Champions League, the participating companies weren't the only ones to benefit. While the goal of the competition ultimately is to help Lithuanian businesses improve their sales, the second phase of the Sales Champions League pitted sales teams against each other in garnering support for three different non-profits: Save the Children, Pifas animal shelters and youth development organization Kitas Variantas. Between Nov. 2 and Dec. 1 the teams brought in together support worth some 448,000 Lithuanian litas (approximately USD 172,000).
"We've never had such a large number of new support contracts within such a short period of time," said Rasa Dičpetrienė, secretary general of Save the Children. "Children at the daycare centers and foster homes that we are in charge of will receive clothing, hygiene items, furniture and even rubber boots. In addition to the items intended for children, we truly appreciate the agreements reached by the sales professionals that will enable us to apply for legal and public relations consultations, advertising, press monitoring, as well as educational seminars for children and their teachers."
