Jorid Aldrin: Copenhagen in September

New GROW ambassador Jorid Aldrin is in Denmark to work for Bonnier Publications Online Department

Hi !

My name is Jorid Aldrin and I work with marketing analysis in the analyst department at Bonnier Tidskrifter in Stockholm, Sweden. I have been working for Bonnier since January 2007. I first started at the marketing department at Bonnier Nova, and in 2008 I moved on to work at the analyst department at Bonnier Tidskrifter. In my current position I mainly work with target group analysis and provide our sales and marketing departments with current data through reports and presentations.

It's almost a year since I applied for the GROW-position as a commercial developer at the Bonnier Publications  and two weeks ago I finally arrived to Copenhagen. For the next three months I will be working for the Online department at Bonnier Publications.

The Bonnier Publications office is situated a bit outside the Copenhagen city on the opposite side from where I live, but it only takes 10 minutes to get there by train. I am probably one of very few at Bonnier Publications who takes the train to work, the most common way to get around in Copenhagen is by bike, no matter what the weather is like.

My first two weeks has been really exciting. I have been introduced to the different websites that the online department works with, getting to know my new colleagues which are so nice, professional and really funny - and I have experienced a department teambuilding day starting with interesting lectures about Search engine optimization and ending  with crazy athletics such as javelin throw, high jump and hurdle racing!

My biggest challenge so far is the language, for me Danish is really hard to understand and almost everyone at work understands my Swedish perfectly so I guess I just have to keep on practicing, hopefully I will be an expert in Danish after these three months. :-)

Last Thursday Bonnier Publications held their yearly summer party. I know that summer party in September sounds a bit odd, but that's the way it is. The inspiration for the evening was the 80's, with 80's music, clothes, food and dancing, it was so much fun! My colleague Malin managed to get a photo of the online department, pretty isn't it?

I am sure that my autumn here at Bonnier Publications is going to absolutely fantastic!
