Sarah Kay. Spoken Word.

GRID12. She was only 14 years old when she took the stage at the famous Bowery Poetry Club in the East Village to perform with New York’s most exciting poets. Now 24, Sarah Kay’s captivating performances have made her a leading spoken word poet. As co-founder of Project V.O.I.C.E. she teaches the magic of poetry and encourages self-expression to students across the world. Her book of poetry “B” is an Amazon bestseller.

Bunker Roy. Barefoot Wisdom.

GRID12. When Bunker Roy left a wealthy home to dedicate his life the rural poor of India, his parents were left in shock. He founded the Barefoot College, the world’s only college built by the poor, for the poor. 40 years later the college has trained more than three million people for jobs in the modern world. Time magazine has ranked him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Pia Sundhage. Bring Out the Best.

GRID12. Pia Sundhage said no to invitations from the White House – and yes to GRID! The London Olympics gold-medal-winning coach of the U.S. women’s soccer team is already considered an icon. One of Sweden’s most acclaimed soccer players, she is now a coach with two Olympic gold medals and one World Cup silver. It’s her unconventional leadership style that makes the difference. The New York Times calls her one of the most interesting coaches they've come across. But her career path wasn’t a given. Growing up, soccer was a man’s sport. She went under a boy’s name for years, just to be able to play.

The theme for this year's GRID challenged your imagination. Media leaders, activists, novelists, journalists, artists, musicians, filmmakers—all kinds of exciting and extraordinary speakers were invited to share their lives and inspiration.

To attend GRID you need an invitation, and each year 250 Bonnier employees are selected. GRID12 took place in Stockholm, September 3-4, 2012. We hope you were wowed.
