U.K.-based book publisher Bonnier Publishing has announced a deal to purchase IglooBooks. The deal will mean that Bonnier Publishing becomes one of the five largest children\u2019s publishers in the U.K. and the dominant force in children\u2019s mass market publishing.<\/p>\n
The acquisition takes place with immediate effect and there will be no resulting redundancies made on either side as a consequence of the deal. All 120 IglooBooks staff members will continue to be based at its Northamptonshire offices and CEO John Styring and his management team will all retain their roles following the acquisition.<\/p>\n
Richard Johnson, CEO of Bonnier Publishing, says: \u201cEarlier this summer I set out the goal of doubling our annual turnover. My aim was to do this by means of both organic growth and acquisition. IglooBooks stood out immediately as a company we could do business with. It shares many of the same cultural and commercial values as Bonnier and is as ambitious and focused on achieving fast growth as we are.<\/p>\n
