GT Wins INMA Award

Swedish newspaper GT (Göteborgs-Tidning) took home a first prize in the prestigious global International News Media Association (INMA) Awards, competing against newspapers from around the world. The paper won for the best use of social media with its campaign #VoteGBG. The awards were given out at the annual meeting of the INMA, held in San Francisco earlier this week.

“It’s fantastic that GT, among all the world’s big media companies, is the newspaper that took first prize for the best use of social media,” said GT Editor-in-Chief Frida Boisen in an article in the paper. “Throughout the conference, not least this evening, many of the world’s most influential media powers have heard about the democracy efforts GT has made in Göteborg. For myself, I feel this prize belongs to all Gothenbergers who have signed the petition for a public referendum in Göteborg. Your efforts were truly exceptional.”
