Bonnier Capital invests in the health care company Safe Life

Bonnier Capital invests in a directed issue of up to SEK 350 million in Safe Life – a Swedish company whose core business is the sale, rental and monitoring of defibrillators and training in CPR.

Safe Life was founded in Sweden in 2019 and now has operations in nine countries in Europe and North America, including Sweden, Finland, U.K., Canada, and the U.S. Pro forma turnover in 2023 was SEK 1.4 billion.

The investment in Safe Life, which operates in the health care sector, is another step in Bonnier Capital’s strategy to invest in companies that are assessed to have good and sustainable growth potential.

Safe Life enables emergency care for people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of hospitals, in the sort of surroundings where we spend most of our everyday lives.

“We are impressed by the work from the founders and how they have developed the company in recent years”, says Sofia Hasselberg, Investment Director at Bonnier Capital, who will sit on Safe Life’s board.

“In just five years, they have taken the company to become a leading player in the global public access market for defibrillators. We look forward to working with Safe Life and their current owners and contributing to the company’s continued growth.”

“We are very happy about the partnership we have now entered into with Bonnier Capital, which supports our ambitious plans with responsible ownership. Bonnier Capital contributes exactly the kind of resources we believe are necessary to achieve our goals. I am convinced that Safe Life’s prospects for the future are bright with Bonnier on board”, says Safe Life’s CEO Jimmy Eriksson, who founded the company together with the company’s Head of M&A Alexander Albedj.

In connection with the transaction, which requires regulatory approval, Bonnier Capital also intends to acquire shares from existing owners for up to SEK 90 million.
