Spoon Wins Big at Guldbladet 2011

Yesterday, the winners were announced for Guldbladet, Sweden’s biggest prize for editorial communication. Held in Stockhlm at Operaterassen, Bonnier Tidskrifter’s custom publisher Spoon won two first-place and four second-place prizes, including the best newcomer award for Fixa Själv, the do-it-yourself magazine from hardware chain Clas Ohlson.

“It feels great to win!” says Fixa Själv editor-in-chief, Moa Suominen. “Fixa Själv is a bold and exciting initiative from Clas Ohlson, and I’m happy to get to work with such a modern company as a client. It’s especially nice that Fixa Själv has found a place at the newsstand, and our editorial team has noticed we get a broader and more engaged readership.”

Spoon’s book for Axel Johnson on power won first place in the best book category. Short films on the same topic as well as Axel Johnson’s annual report also provided Spoon with two additional second-place prizes.

“It’s super exciting that we won a prize for something a bit different for internal communication,” says Gabriella Wiiala, project manager. “We wanted to explain the company’s history and spread the company values via people.”

Spoon also won second place for its iPhone app for gym chain SATS and for STIM-Magasinet, the magazine for the copyright organization STIM in the best membership/organization magazine.
