Bonnier Capital invests in Umbraco to support global growth
Bonnier Capital announces a minority investment in Umbraco – a high-growth global leader in Content Management System (CMS). The investment is made alongside Alcur Fonder and Grenspecialisten, with Monterro remaining the majority owner.
Founded in 2003, and headquartered in Denmark, Umbraco has grown into a trusted CMS platform powering some of the largest brands worldwide. The company’s success is built on its open-source foundation, a highly engaged global developer community of more than 250,000 developers, and a strong international partner network. With annual recurring revenue growth consistently exceeding 30 percent, Umbraco has established itself as a strong Nordic software company.
The investment marks an opportunity to strengthen Umbraco’s international expansion and the rise of AI in the CMS space offers Umbraco unique potential to further establish itself as a 3rd generation CMS, combining multichannel orchestration with intelligent automation to meet evolving customer needs.
“We are very excited to join Umbraco on its growth journey,” says Carl Backman, CEO of Bonnier Capital. “Umbraco has built an exceptional platform and community, and we see significant opportunities to support the company in strengthening its international position.”
This partnership underscores Bonnier Capital’s long-term commitment to supporting ambitious growth companies alongside strong entrepreneurs and co-investors.
