Bonnierförlagen Launches Bonnier Bookery

Bonnierförlagen Launches Digital Book Publisher Bonnier Bookery

With a list designed to attract digital readers and listeners, the new Bonnier Bookery is part of Bonnierförlagen’s growth strategy. The publisher will put out 20-25 titles a year, both literature and non-fiction. The publisher will be headed by Åsa Selling.

“Digital developments create fantastic opportunities for storytelling and new ways of reaching big audiences,” says Åsa Selling. “With Bonnier Bookery, we will be developing book publishing for the Swedish book industry, tailoring books for digital readers and listeners.”

Åsa Selling has been head of Wahlström & Widstrand, also part of Bonnierförlagen as well as been a publisher at Albert Bonniers Förlag.

The publisher for Bonnier Bookery will be Susanna Romanus. She has long experience in the book publishing industry, most recently as head of publishing for literatur and non-fiction at Norstedts.

“Storytelling is stronger than ever and continues to be front and center when we look for tomorrow’s authors,” says Romanus. “With Bonnier Bookery, we aim to develop storytelling with new behaviors in mind, and an important part of the business will be experimentation. It’s tremendously exiciting to be able to use my long experience for something creative and to be part of starting a new business.”
