New CEO for Nyhetsbolaget

On April 15, Åsa Tillberg will take over as CEO of news production company Nyhetsbolaget, which supplies news programming to TV4, among others. Currently managing editor for Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter, Tillberg was approved as CEO in a unanimous board decision earlier today.

Tillberg has been managing editor for Dagens Nyheter since 2009 and previously served as head of the financial pages for the newspaper. Prior to that, she served as managing editor for Swedish business daily Dagens industri from 2003 to 2007, where she also worked as a political reporter for ten years.

“Nyhetsbolaget and TV4 have very strong journalistic brands,” says Tillberg. “We want to protect and develop these, as well as the business in general. But we need to also develop future TV journalism. To ensure the quality of journalism and to develop new TV journalism while at the same time adapting our business to meet the structural changes that are taking place are exciting challenges that I look forward to meeting together with my colleagues at Nyhetsbolaget.”

Tillberg succeeds Göran Ellung, who has been CEO of Nyhetsbolaget since its start at the beginning of 2011. In connection with this organizational change, Jan Scherman will be leaving his post as board chair, to be replaced by Casten Almqvist.
