New Role for Lotta Edling

Lotta Edling to head journalism development for Bonnier News – Peter Fellman returns as editor-in-chief for Dagens industri.

After some three years as editor-in-chief for Swedish business daily Dagens industri, Lotta Edling will move on to a new role as head of journalistic development for Bonnier News, the business area that comprises all of Bonnier’s news and business dailies in Sweden. She will start the new position on Aug. 1.

Edling will report to Anders Eriksson, head of the business area, and will be part of the executive management team. In her new role, she will be driving initiatives and projects to further develop journalistic collaboration among the brands within the business area; create new business opportunities and work to strengthen Bonnier News’ profile in regards to its journalistic mission and strategy. In addition, Edling will bring her journalism experience and perspective as a board member on a number of boards of directors within Bonnier, including for the Bonnier News business area, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter, HD-Sydsvenskan, Bonnier Business Media, Fastighetsnytt and Dagbladet Børsen in Denmark, as well as the minority-owned TT News Agency. Edling will also continue to support and contribute to the Dagens industri editorial team.

“I look forward to working in a new role promoting journalism within Bonnier News and with a number of Sweden’s strongest media brands,” says Edling. “I will of course still have a hand in at Dagens industri, I’ve worked there for 13 years and the paper will always be part of my DNA. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve contributed in recent years, both in terms of journalism and from a business perspective, where we’ve created a completely new digital business, invested in content and launched Di TV as a new strategic platform.”

Peter Fellman, following his current role as Dagens industri’s correspondent in New York, will return to Stockholm to serve as editor-in-chief for the business daily from Aug. 1. Fellman has long experience with Dagens industri, where he has worked since 1999 including as editor-in-chief during 2009-2015. He will focus on further strengthening Dagens industri and its businesses, not least through growth of digital readership as well as a deeper integration and collaboration with Bonnier Business Media’s different verticals.

“It will be exciting to be back leading Dagens industri’s transformation,” says Fellman. “Most important will be further strengthening the content and services for paid subscribers and accelerating conversions to digital. We already have over 30,000 digital subscribers and that number will continue to grow.”

“I want to congratulate Lotta and Peter on their new roles and very much look forward to working with them in the future on the strategies and further development of Bonnier News and Dagens industri,” says Anders Eriksson, who along with his role as head of Bonnier News also serves as CEO for Dagens industri, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and HD-Sydsvenskan.
