WIT Stockhholm 2018

Women in Tech is back in Stockholm for the fifth year in a row – now as a full day event.

On March 8, International Women’s Day, Women in Tech (WITsthlm) will kick off at Folkets Hus in Stockholm. Bonnier is a proud founding partner, joining nine others in supporting WITsthlm. The 1,500 free tickets will be released on Feb. 1.

Aimed at inspiring women to choose a career in tech, WITsthlm is free to attend and open to all – and for the first time, the event will span a full day. Held at Folkets Hus at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm, journalist and program host Sabinije von Gaffke will serve as moderator for the second year in a row, together with Anna Olin Kardell, debate moderator.

“WIT is a fantastic platform for highlighting issues that are particularly relevant for the tech sector, such as skills and new technologies, and for sharing knowledge, inspiration and networking possibilities,” says Sabinije von Gaffke. By doing this – and by making female role models more visible – we aim to help open young women’s eyes to tech, to encourage women leaders to remain in the industry, and not least to create a more equal and sustainable business culture.”

You can already register as a WIT member here before the Feb. 1 release of the tickets. An e-mail will be sent to all registered members to remind them – last year tickets sold out in seven minutes!

Details of speakers and the program will be published on WIT’s homepage when confirmed.

“In 2017, women speakers accounted for 100 percent of our program,”says Paulina Modlitba Söderlund, who is responsible for the agenda at WIT. “We chose those speakers not only as women, but as experts in their fields. There are so many successful women engineers, developers, entrepreneurs and investors with huge amounts of knowledge to share. We’ve shown that a world-class tech event primarily by, with and for women is possible – and we’ll do it again this year.”

For those not attending, the event will be shown live on the streaming service Viafree and WIT’s homepage.

Along with Bonnier, the other main partners are Accenture, EY, Google, HTC Vive, Kindred, MTG, Nasdaq, Scania and Tieto.
